Church Stained Glass Restoration in Arizona
Arizona’s religious history reaches back centuries, when the first Europeans arrived in Native American territory. Spanish settlers brought Catholicism to the region in the early 1500’s and Christianity became prevalent. Then, hundreds of years later, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came to the area, settling in the Phoenix Valley and, eventually, founding the towns of Mesa, Snowflake, Heber, and Safford. Today, Arizona is a melting pot of religious culture and is home to numerous Methodist, Southern Baptist, Lutheran, Mormon, Jewish, and Hindu churches. Beautiful cathedrals, temples, and churches can be found all throughout Arizona, from the northernmost areas in the mountains like Flagstaff to the Valley to cities in the south like Tucson and Casa Grande.
Stained glass windows are an iconic feature of religious buildings and can be found in many of Arizona’s churches. Stained glass, while beautiful and awe-inspiring, needs to be maintained properly in order to remain stable and retain its lovely appearance. About once every 70-80 years, restoration is needed to prevent its decline and deterioration.
